Medium sized hardwoods of the Central and North coast districts of New South
Wales and Southern Queensland. Grey box timbers (Eucalyptus microcarpa) are
slow in drying and resistant to surface checking.
These eucalypti's mechanical statistics and features make it an ideal timber
for heavy engineering construction, ship-building, bridges, poles and of course
flooring.
Features:
- The timber is generally free of gum vein with a diffusing colour of pale
yellowish brown
- Texture is often fine and even and grain is usually interlocked
- Grey box species are resilient to surface checking due to it's durability
Dimensions shown are nominal finished size also known as 100mm or 4 inch flooring
There is approximately 12.5 lineal metres to a m2 and can only be supplied in random lengths.
Select Grade is generally clearer in appearance than Australiana grade however some gum vein and natural markings may still be evident. Select grade flooring is the top of the range grade and a far more elegant looking floor.
