The Alphalite Half Length End Block 390x190x290mm are the main concrete blocks used in the stretcher courses
of 300mm concrete block walls. The H-Block design is used primarily for concrete
core filled retaining walls and situations where the ingress of water needs
to be avoided, such as carparks and basements.
Unlike the standard block that consists of 2 core holes and three abridging
pieces of concrete between the two faces of the block being at both ends and
one in the middle, the 'H-Block' design allows for a greater opening down the
middle of the wall to ensure easier reinforcement placement, cleaning of the
internal mortar dags, and proper core filling.
The open ended aspect of the Alphalite Half Length End Block 390x190x290mm block
also ensures an integral wall once the cores are filled, as there are no mortar
joints running either vertically or horizontally through the wall from face
to face (as there is when stanard blocks are used) which can easily become points
of penetration for water
