Esti-mate is a range of
products for the Construction Industry. The software has been designed to be simple
to use and includes facilities for Estimating, Quotations, Bill of Quantities,
Materials Enquiries, Subcontractor Enquiries and Comparisons, Post Contract Valuations
and Job Costing.
Esti-mate's
development team, with over 20 years experience, has previously been responsible
for producing other industry-leading estimating systems, and now brings their
expertise to this highly functional, easy to use, software.
Esti-mate
is realistically priced. The powerful, yet affordable, features available within
our product range are usually only found in systems costing thousands of dollars
more.
The Esti-mate product range
will run on Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP. The software will operate on all standalone
Windows 98 onwards Computers and over most networks. The programs are automatically
set to operate in multi-user mode, allowing more than one user in the same estimate
at the same time.
The
Esti-mate software range includes:
Estimating
Module
Produces Quotations and traditional Bills of Quantities with prices created
from Labour, Plant, Materials and Subcontractor resources. Dimensions may be
taken off using traditional methods.
Materials
Enquiry
Stand-alone or integrated with the Estimating, this Module allows Materials
schedules to be built, sent out as enquiries to Suppliers and prices compared
and selected for the Estimate.
Subcontractor
Module
Stand-alone or integrated with the Estimating, this Module allows the Bill Items
to be allocated to Trade packages. Packages may be sent out as enquiries to
any number of subcontractors, using e-mail or printed documents. When quotations
are received, the module allows you to compare rates in a variety of ways, and
select a subcontractor's rates for automatic update of the Estimate.
Surfacing
Items Calculator
This specialist
module allows the rapid entry of Surfacing Items to be added to an Estimate.
The calculator allows materials and gangs to be selected, with the quantities
of the materials (in tonnes) calculated from material density, % compaction,
thickness, % waste and superage. These calculations are then applied to the
total Item quantity (measured in square metres) and a rate build-up produced
as a combination of the materials, labour, plant, gang, transport costs etc.
The calculator may be used to add several surfacing elements to the same Item,
such as sub-base, main and wearing courses etc. The calculator may be used to
change any element of the calculations after they have been initially created.
Bill
Import
Stand-alone or integrated with the Estimating, this Module allows Estimates
to be quickly and easily created from Microsoft Excel, CSV or ASCII Text files
created by programs other than Esti-mate.
Valuations
Uses the
jobs produced by the Estimating program and allows a range of traditional Quantity
Surveying functions to be performed and professional quality documentation to
be produced.

The Estimating program allows
a Bill of Quantities to be simply and quickly prepared in a variety of ways and
printed as a set of professional documents, making this an invaluable tool for
Builders, Estimators, Sub-contractors and Architects.
Functions available include:
- On-screen display of
the Bill of Quantities, including fonts and page-breaks that will be as printed.
- Elements of the Bill
created manually, copied from another Job or imported from a Standard Pricing
Library. Spell checking is provided for the descriptions.
- Jobs may be imported
from other Estimating or Bill Production Systems via industry standard CITE
Files.
- Items may be added, copied,
changed or deleted anywhere within the Estimate.
- Items may be rapidly
located and displayed as a single list. Such grouping includes Items the have
not yet been priced, Items containing selected resources, Items over a selected
value etc.
- Dimensions take-off may
be used to record measurements, including the use of a digitiser to take measurements
directly from drawings.
- Rates may be directly
entered or built up from Labour, Plant, Materials and Subcontract resources.
- Rate build-ups may have
waste factors applied which reflect a true quantity.
- Waste factors can be
set at individual Item level or globally across all Items.
- Activities may be created
and used. These elements contain quantified build-ups of resources and other
activities (to any depth). Analyses of the Resources split these activities
into their component Labour, Plant, Materials and Subcontract elements.
- Resource prices may be
adjusted globally, with the Bill Rates being automatically updated.
- Full analysis of Labour,
Plant, Materials and Subcontract resources, giving total quantities, rate

of Items.
- Analyse the job by user-defined
groups. This facility allows the job to be exported to project management
packages etc.
- All analyses including
Rate Analysis and Dimensions may be printed.
- Professional quality
Bill of Quantities printed, with or without rates, profit, GST or converted
to another currency.
- The Job may be printed
with selected Resources rates, allowing Labour-only, Labour+Plant etc Bills.
- Preliminaries may be
entered and calculated outside of the Job pricing, and the Preliminaries value
transferred to the Bill as a set of Bill Items or as a percentage adjustment
to the measured work.
- All reports may be sent
to a CSV format file for use in spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel.
- Estimates may be exported
to industry standard C.I.T.E format files for transfer to other Estimating
packages.
