Quantifier is a simple to use but versatile software programme that calculates
quantities of various building components in length and area, then a report
gives total calculations which can be used in your estimating software programme
or if you do not have one just apply your own rates to work out building costs.
Manual handling to take out quantities is the most tedious and time consuming
part of estimating, not to mention the error margin associated with the manual
work.
Working with this software is extremely easy and fast, it is simple as typing
in the dimensions of walls, ceilings and floors, then selecting any of available
choices of materials and components. For example carpet, tile, brick, cement
render, paint, cornice, skirting board, architrave & etc. or if the choice
is not available, can be added on the fly.
Finally by printing a comprehensive report, total calculations of lengths (in
metre) and areas (in metre square) are given. The report also includes the number
of internal and external doors as well as area of total door and window openings
in meter square, and an option would allow to set a desired percentage rate
for wastage.
How it works
Using Quantifier is as simple as using a calculator. Enter dimensions of a
wall and by putting ticks in boxes to select what needs to be calculated which
can be brick, plasterboard, tile, paint, etc. to include in the report, and
ability to add new once.
